Ethan’s Presidential Vote Bombshell Announcement
Saturday, October 8, 2016, I have made my decision. If Donald Trump is on my ballot November 8th, I’ll vote for Hillary Clinton.
The audio of Trump’s conversation with Billy Bush is beyond sickening and apparently confirms that Trump isn’t just a misogynist, he is a sexual abuser of women. In his own words. Repeatedly.
This is not just “boys will be boys.” This is sexual abuse, abuse of power, and more. We can never teach our boys and young men that this is okay. It is not.
Take a look at New York’s Penal Code:
A person is guilty of forcible touching when such person intentionally, and for no legitimate purpose:
1. forcibly touches the sexual or other intimate parts of another person for the purpose of degrading or abusing such person, or for the purpose of gratifying the actor’s sexual desire; or
2. subjects another person to sexual contact for the purpose of gratifying the actor’s sexual desire and with intent to degrade or abuse such other person while such other person is a passenger on a bus, train, or subway car operated by any transit agency, authority or company, public or private, whose operation is authorized by New York state or any of its political subdivisions. (N.Y. Penal Law § 130.52.)
or California’s:
Any person who touches an intimate part of another person, if the touching is against the will of the person touched, and is for the specific purpose of sexual arousal, sexual gratification, or sexual abuse, is guilty of misdemeanor sexual battery, punishable by a fine not exceeding two thousand dollars ($2,000), or by imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding six months, or by both that fine and imprisonment. (Pen. Code, § 243.4(e)1.)
I strongly dislike that I am being forced into voting for who is likely to be the most flawed President in my lifetime. There are not viable alternatives this election and Trump’s own words and actions forced my hand.

EDIT: To be clear, this is NOT an endorsement of Hillary Clinton, just a statement of my opinion. I still want a viable 3rd and 4th party, they just need to do better than Johnson and Stein to get my vote.
Thank you, Ethan, for your decision to vote for Hillary and your reasons for doing so. As a female, a mother, a Psychiatric RN, and an active political enthusiast, I appreciate your thoughtful decision on behalf of all females. From hearing your talk show, I understand how difficult this decision must have been for you. I have learned over the years that there are times when we don’t get the “ideal” in our elected officials. I still maintain the belief in the importance of continuing the struggle to work toward improving the system via our chosen political process. Thank you for your thoughtful participation.
Jude Saaks, RN
Well done! Someday, you will tell your daughter how you voted and why — she will be proud of you.
Ethan,
Although I understand the thoughts behind not voting third party. For the first time in my voting life, that’s what I am doing. I’m a registered Republican, I’ve voted for a few Democrats along the way when I truly felt they were the better choice, but this year for president I just cannot find it in my heart to vote for either of these two and walk out of the polling place without physical pain in my stomach. I know Johnson is not perfect, but I believe him to be a better choice than Trump or Clinton. I normally stray away from the Libertarian platform due to their foreign policy, but this year even that is not enough to keep me away. I’ve not been able to keep up with your program lately, if you have a link to your opinion on third party votes I’d like to see it.
In my opinion, neither of these two people are qualified, nay, deserving for the role of president of the United States, and i just can’t in good conscience vote for either.
Typical inch-deep emotional response. Clearly Michelle O managed to push your buttons. We knew Bill Clinton was a womanizer when we elected him. Did that disqualify him? When we learned, as the Paula Jones and Monica Lewinsky scandals played out, of the truly despicable things he did to women, there was still a groundswell to not remove him from office. All of Hillary’s current supporters would probably agree with that groundswell. We know now that JFK said and did things far worse then what you hear from Trump, yet do we consider him “disqualified” for the presidency? You missed the Demo memo from long ago: whenever a Dem is in trouble, do whatever you can to foment a “war on women” (Todd Akin in Mo.) or the racist claim (George Allen in Va). Those of us who’ve seen this so often are a bit hardened. It’s very efffective, so they replay it. Sure, Trump is a crass, spoiled, privileged frat boy, but so was George W. in his day. Pity you can not keep your head when all about you….
You didn’t notice I posted several days before the First Lady.
