Ethan Presidential Vote Bombshell Announcement

Ethan’s Presidential Vote Bombshell Announcement

Saturday, October 8, 2016, I have made my decision. If Donald Trump is on my ballot November 8th, I’ll vote for Hillary Clinton.

The audio of Trump’s conversation with Billy Bush is beyond sickening and apparently confirms that Trump isn’t just a misogynist, he is a sexual abuser of women. In his own words. Repeatedly.

This is not just “boys will be boys.” This is sexual abuse, abuse of power, and more. We can never teach our boys and young men that this is okay. It is not.

Take a look at New York’s Penal Code:
A person is guilty of forcible touching when such person intentionally, and for no legitimate purpose:
1. forcibly touches the sexual or other intimate parts of another person for the purpose of degrading or abusing such person, or for the purpose of gratifying the actor’s sexual desire; or
2. subjects another person to sexual contact for the purpose of gratifying the actor’s sexual desire and with intent to degrade or abuse such other person while such other person is a passenger on a bus, train, or subway car operated by any transit agency, authority or company, public or private, whose operation is authorized by New York state or any of its political subdivisions. (N.Y. Penal Law § 130.52.)

or California’s:
Any person who touches an intimate part of another person, if the touching is against the will of the person touched, and is for the specific purpose of sexual arousal, sexual gratification, or sexual abuse, is guilty of misdemeanor sexual battery, punishable by a fine not exceeding two thousand dollars ($2,000), or by imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding six months, or by both that fine and imprisonment. (Pen. Code, § 243.4(e)1.)

I strongly dislike that I am being forced into voting for who is likely to be the most flawed President in my lifetime. There are not viable alternatives this election and Trump’s own words and actions forced my hand.

EDIT: To be clear, this is NOT an endorsement of Hillary Clinton, just a statement of my opinion. I still want a viable 3rd and 4th party, they just need to do better than Johnson and Stein to get my vote.

Fox News Happening Now 9/28/2016

I had the pleasure of joining Jenna Lee on Fox News Channel’s Happening Now on 9/28/2016. I was on the panel along with Joe Carraro a retired New Mexico State Senator, and Dr. Costas Panagopoulos from Fordham University.

We discussed how Independents (No Party Preference/NPP here in California) are viewing the presidential race after the first debate.

I share how I thought neither candidate moved independent voters, why I am an independent, how I think the system is broken, and why I am optimistic for the future!

Please tell me your thoughts below and share with your friends!

Ethan Explains First Presidential Debate

The first presidential “debate” is tonight! Donald J. Trump will “debate” Sec. Hillary R. Clinton with Lester Holt moderating.

I use quotes around the word debate, because these aren’t really debates with rules that are followed. No microphone gets turned off when someone goes over time, for example.

Will anything about the “debate” change your mind? Or are these just publicity stunts now where each side will cherry pick what their candidate said while viciously attacking the opposing candidate? And they will all claim poor Lester Holt didn’t do a good enough job?

BTW, where is Governor Gary Johnson and why isn’t he going to be on stage? I think any candidate polling higher than 5% should be included in the debates. That’s the only way we’ll get viable third parties in this country. We really do need more than the broken duopoly which provides us what I think of as a false dichotomy of D versus R.

Ethan Explains Tangled Trump

Ethan Explains Tangled Trump

The polls show a dead heat between Sec. Hillary Clinton and businessman Donald J. Trump, and I’ve spent plenty of time picking apart Clinton. Now we find out that the Trump Foundation, while not ethically challenged regarding our government, is deeply problematic.

The Washington Post editorial board goes as far as calling Trump a “scam artist” because of the problems with the Trump Foundation. From the article:

Mr. Trump does not appear to have given his own money to the Trump Foundation since 2008, and by then Trump funds had become a tiny slice of the organization’s revenue. Since then, the available records suggest, a charitable group that bears the billionaire’s name has been funded by others. That has not stopped Mr. Trump from claiming credit for doling out other people’s cash. He happily accepted an award from the Palm Beach Police Foundation in 2010 — then he cut the group off once the real source of the money, a New Jersey charity, stopped contributing to the Trump Foundation. Donations he promised on “The Celebrity Apprentice” would come out of his “own wallet” instead came from his foundation or a television production company. The story is the same with a 2009 TV contest called “Trump pays your bills!”, in which the Trump Foundation, not Mr. Trump, paid the winner’s bills.

Further, Newsweek‘s Kurt Eichenwald wrote a well researched piece documenting all of the conflicts of interest a President Trump will have due to his international business dealings. From his piece:

A close examination by Newsweek of the Trump Organization, including confidential interviews with business executives and some of its international partners, reveals an enterprise with deep ties to global financiers, foreign politicians and even criminals, although there is no evidence the Trump Organization has engaged in any illegal activities. It also reveals a web of contractual entanglements that could not be just canceled. If Trump moves into the White House and his family continues to receive any benefit from the company, during or even after his presidency, almost every foreign policy decision he makes will raise serious conflicts of interest and ethical quagmires.

Done with the broken duopoly yet? I suggest we need Governor Gary Johnson on the presidential debate stage to provide a third approach to running the United States of America.

Ethan Explains Bernie Should Support Jill

Ethan Explains Bernie Should Support Jill

Dr. Jill Stein is running for President on the Green Party ticket. For the Senator Bernie Sanders supporters, she appears to be a natural fit for them. Why aren’t they or you supporting Jill?

Take a look at her platform positions like: A Green New Deal, Jobs as a Right, End Poverty, Health Care as a Right, Education as a Right, A Just Economy, Protect Mother Earth, and more. This fits with Bernie, right?

The polls show Dr. Stein from as low as 0% support in Mississippi to 7% in Colorado. So, your circular argument that she isn’t high enough in the polls is YOUR fault if you don’t support her.

Please comment below and tell me Bernie supporters, why don’t you support Dr. Jill Stein?

Ethan on Fox News Election HQ Never Clinton

I had the pleasure of joining host Leland Vittert and fellow guest Karine Jean-Pierre on Fox News Channel Election HQ on August 21, 2016.

We discussed the Hillary Clinton campaign moving forward with plans as they expect to win. I share my take on that and then dive into the Clinton scandals while suggesting Donald Trump “stay in the shadows instead of spewing shadowy language.”

Ethan on Fox News Election HQ 6/8/2016

Hillary Clinton wrapped up the Democratic Party nomination on Tuesday, June 7th and gave a presidential victory speech in Brooklyn, New York. Heather Nauert anchors Fox News Channel’s Election HQ on this late Tuesday night appearance and Jehmu Greene argues for the Hillary camp. I point out the uphill battle she faces to win over the electorate.

Ethan on Fox News Americas News HQ – Trump in California

Screen Shot 2016-06-04 at 3.43.06 PM

I appeared on Fox News Channel America’s News HQ with Leland Vitter hosting and joined by Angela McGlowan on Saturday, June 4th, 2016. We discussed how many conservatives and Republicans (let alone NPP and Democrats) are not behind Donald J. Trump in California and what he needs to do to start winning over the holdouts.

By the way, Leland calls it “Ethan’s Movement” at 1:13 and Angela follows suit at 1:19.

Here is a snippet of the Los Angeles Times/USC poll I referenced:

Trump has contended in recent days that he could make a run at California in November, but the poll showed that to be implausible, at best.

Fewer than three in 10 likely November voters in California had a favorable impression of Trump, and Clinton led him in a hypothetical matchup by 26 points, a margin that would represent the biggest victory in recent California history, larger even than Barack Obama’s historic 24-point win in November of 2008.

Clinton’s advantage would be even more dominant were she receiving the support of more of Sanders’ loyalists.
Among those siding with the senator in the primary, 65% said they were certain to support Clinton in the fall.
Of the remainder, 10% said they would vote for Trump and 13% said they would not vote in the general election.
