I was particularly honored this year at the greatest gathering of minds in the talk media industry to be invited to introduce the Master of Ceremonies himself, the professor emeritus of the talk industry today, the publisher of TALKERS magazine, Michael Harrison and the Executive Vice President of Cumulus Media, John Dickey for the session called “The Fireside Chat.”

I am truly humbled with two great honors awarded today, March 25, 2015!
TALKERS has again bestowed me with #96 on The Talkers Magazine 2015 Heavy Hundred for my work on Cumulus Media’s KSFO in San Francisco, California and my syndicated show on the Genesis Communications Network. Thank you!
I haven’t been on the air locally in Santa Cruz since March of 2014, yet my loyal and active listeners voted for me enough to receive runner-up in the Good Times Best of Santa Cruz 2015 Best Radio Personality in Santa Cruz County! Thank you!!!
You are wonderful fans, I thank you for the awards!
I had the great honor of not only attending TALKERS at the Steve Allen Theater in Hollywood, but also to introduce a panel title, “Radio – The Big Picture Part 2”. Here are a few pictures of my time visiting with some greats!
Talkers magazine has published my latest industry piece today! And check out the glowing introduction – “One of the brightest young news/talk hosts on the rise today, Ethan Bearman of KSCO, Santa Cruz and Genesis Communications Network shares the story of his recent adventure in simple-yet-effective remote broadcasting in which he conveniently packed a bag of all the gear necessary to capture an interview with a Times of London reporter under the tightest of security restrictions at the Houses of Parliament in London to get an international perspective on the American presidential election.”
What happens when you mix a nerd and talk radio broadcaster who loves politics and current events?
During the presidential election last fall I saw many posts on Twitter, Facebook, and blogs all over the web sharing international opinions regarding our vote. And I thought, “How do I tap into that information in a manner that is different from everybody else?”
Talkers wrote a very nice commentary on my show, The Ethan Bearman Show, the interview and where I am headed in the talk radio industry.
From Talkers:Dynamic Coast-to-Coast Conversation. The power of issues-oriented talk radio and its unlimited positioning options were amply demonstrated this weekend as two fresh-on-the-scene mavericks hooked up on the phone and showed that there can be more to this medium than predictable partisan polarization. Shown at left,GCN syndicated weekend talent Ethan Bearman, a relative newcomer to the field located in his Northern California studio yesterday, interviewing Jonathan Miller (right) in the Washington, DC offices of No Labels. Miller, a former two-term Kentucky State Treasurer, is co-founder of the DC-based, bi-partisan political organization dedicated to finding common ground between today’s political extremes. Their slogan is, “Stop fighting, start fixing.” Bearman, described recently by TALKERS publisher Michael Harrison as “the Colin Kaepernick of young talk show hosts,” positions his independent brand of politics as “left, right and forward.” His program airs live on Sundays from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm PT. The industry should take note.
