FNC Tucker Carlson Kavanaugh Washington Post

Fox News Channel‘s Tucker Carlson Tonight had me back on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 to discuss the Judge Kavanaugh sexual abuse/assault allegations.

This segment generated so much controversy that the Washington Post‘s Amy Wang reached out to me for comment and put up a big article about it. From the piece:

“She’s claiming that this man sexually assaulted her and altered the course of her life,” Carlson told Bearman. “She didn’t tell anybody his name for 36 years, during which time he got married, he interacted with many others in our population.”

Carlson then launched a barrage of questions at Bearman.

“Sex offenders tend to commit serial sex crimes. Doesn’t she have an obligation to tell someone?” he asked. “To stop him from doing that if he is, in fact, a sex criminal? Where’s her obligation here? What about the rest of us?”

Bearman began talking about the reasons a sexual assault victim might not feel comfortable reporting (more on that below), before Carlson cut him off abruptly.

“No, no, no, no, no, no, hold on, I’m not asking her about her reasons,” the Fox News host said. “I’m asking about the rest of us — the other 320 million people who live here. If he’s actually a sex criminal, we have a right to know that, and she has an obligation to tell us. And I know it’s hard. But why don’t we have a right to know? If there’s a rapist on the loose, if you don’t tell anybody, if Bernie Madoff rips you off and you don’t tell his other investors, you’re part of the problem, are you not? What am I missing?”

Still, Bearman continued, attempting to fact-check Carlson on his earlier claims that Ford “didn’t tell anybody [Kavanaugh’s] name for 36 years.”

As Bearman tried to explain all this, though, Carlson interrupted him again.

“I’m saying, if it is true, what’s going on here?” he demanded. “Don’t the rest of us have a right to protect ourselves from this dangerous man, Brett Kavanaugh? What’s the answer?”

And there it was. The moment. Bearman began shaking his head. His large, dark-rimmed glasses couldn’t hide the fact that his eyes were staying closed longer each time he blinked. Carlson maintained an indignant expression.

FNC Tucker Carlson Mark Steyn John Brennan Security

Tucker Carlson brought me back on his Fox News Channel show Thursday, August 16, 2018.

Mark Steyn and then Tucker took the position that former CiA director John Brennan rightfully had his security clearance revoked by President Trump.

I countered that there are two arguments and a potential legal argument against this revocation based on Brennan’s anti-Trump speech on another cable news outlet.

  • Attacks on the Free Press – see the over 350 newspapers writing about it yesterday.
  • Trump attempting to silence critics
  • There is a good reason for top officials to keep their clearance so new top officials can have continuity in their ability to talk about on-going operations.
  • After my appearance, more than 70 former intelligence officials signed a letter making a nearly identical argument as I did with Tucker.
  • My reference to administrative law is based on a number of factors related to the state creating a property right of a license (for example liquor) and requiring complete administrative due process before revocation.

None of this excuses a closer look at why over 4 million people have security clearances, some of which may have no reason to still have one.

FNC Tucker Carlson Kilmeade Instagram Censorship

Fox News Channel had me back on Tucker Carlson Tonight with guest host Brian Kilmeade on Monday, August 6, 2018.

We discussed Instagram censoring a short clip I posted from Tucker’s show Friday night where we said nothing in the realm of hate speech. We merely discussed Sarah Jeong and the New York Times decision to hire her, not quote her tweets.

FNC Tucker Carlson Sarah Jeong Racism

I joined Tucker Carlson Tonight on Fox News Channel again August 3, 2018. The topic was the New York Times new editorial board member Sarah Jeong and her controversial tweets that have the right-wing in this country all a-twitter.

Watch the full segment below and keep in mind some points I made.

  • Scientists have studied and shown that we respond to written threats like real, physical threats
  • Sarah Jeong was often responding (I suggested inappropriately) to Twitter trolls who were attacking here – see HERE
  • White Fragility is a real thing that is studied and documented – HERE
  • Koreans are still experiencing racism today, like this racist road rage incident against a Korean-American vet
  • The history of racism in our country includes Asians, and yes we wiped out villages

FNC Tucker Carlson Immigrant Local Voting

Tucker Carlson kindly invited me back on his Fox News Channel show, Friday, July 20, 2018.

Our topic was San Francisco allowing all residents, regardless of immigration status to vote this November in local school board elections.

According to the elections department, non-citizen voting materials are required to have a notice letting the voter know that any information provided to the department may be obtained by the federal government.

The ordinance will permit non-citizen voting for the Board of Education elections from November of this year through Nov. 2022. After that, the ordinance will expire and supervisors must vote on whether to adopt an ordinance to continue it.

To be eligible, a non-citizen voter must be a San Francisco resident, 18 years or older and be a parent, legal guardian or caregiver to a child under the age of 19.

Boston is also considering allowing non-citizens to vote in local elections.

The City Council’s Committee on Government Operations is set to have a hearing on Tuesday to discuss the idea of non-U.S. citizens voting in municipal elections.

The council is looking at ways to make city elections more inclusive, such as allowing foreign-born residents with legal status to vote.

According to a 2015 American Community Survey of the U.S. Census Bureau, immigrants make up 28.5% of the city’s population, or roughly 190,000 people. Boston’s immigrants also paid $116 million in state and local taxes, and spent around $3.4 billion according to a 2015 “Boston by the Numbers” report.

Immigrants with legal status in Boston include legal permanent residents, visa holders and those on temporary protected status or deferred action for childhood arrivals.

Studies show kids have far better educational outcomes when parents are involved.

School and parent/family/community partnerships are associated with positive effects on student outcomes, e.g., higher levels of achievement as measured by standardized test scores; factual, conceptual, critical, and attitudinal aspects of learning

Finally, few people vote in local elections.

voter turnout across neighborhoods corresponds with the distribution of race and income, with whiter and wealthier neighborhoods …showing high turnout

FNC Tucker Carlson Democrats Statue of Liberty Protest

Tucker Carlson had me back on his eponymous Fox News Channel show Thursday, July 5, 2018. We discussed what he sees as Democrats using immigrants as voting pawns, much to his chagrin.

From Politico:

The list of those changes is dizzying. Grant statehood to D.C. and Puerto Rico, and break California in seven, with the goal of adding 16 new Democrats to the Senate. Expand the Supreme Court and the federal courts, packing them with liberal judges. Move to multi-member House districts to roll back the effects of partisan gerrymandering. Pass a new Voting Rights Act, including nationwide automatic voter registration, felon enfranchisement and an end to voter ID laws. Grant citizenship to millions of undocumented immigrants, creating a host of new Democratic-leaning voters: “Republicans have always feared that immigration would change the character of American society. Democrats should reward them with their very worst nightmare.”

Plus I defended Congolese immigrant Therese Patricia Okoumou who protested on the Statue of Liberty July 4th. She is participating in our Democracy under her First Amendment rights, why get so upset?

From the New York Post:

Cops say Therese Patricia Okoumou — a 44-year-old immigrant from the Democratic Republic of the Congo — was the person responsible for the Fourth of July protest.

Sources said Okoumou told investigators she climbed up to the feet of Lady Liberty to protest President Trump’s “zero tolerance” policy on immigration and the separation of families at the border.

FNC Tucker Carlson Albertsons English Workplace

Thank you again Tucker Carlson and Fox News Channel for having me back on Friday evening, May 4, 2018. We discussed the ramifications of the EEOC suing Albertsons for a manager disallowing Spanish spoken amongst co-workers when NOT interacting with customers.

Businesses of course want to do what they can to best serve their customers, as they should do more! However, employees conversing amongst themselves in another language is protected behavior. It’s not like these employees were claiming to not speak English and refusing to help the customers.

More importantly this is a prime example of why big companies need greater scrutiny over how they approach hiring and managing employees. When I was a teenager working at McDonalds I’d speak German to a coworker who was in my German class just so we could converse without people overhearing our conversation. We were still getting our work done and high reviews, but it allowed us to talk without people eavesdropping. Why can’t these employees do the same?

What do you think?

FNC Tucker Carlson Migrant Caravan Immigration

Thank you to Fox News Channel and Tucker Carlson Tonight for having me back on Tuesday, May 1, 2018. What remains of the asylum seeking migrant caravan from Central America is at San Ysidro Port of Entry and our discussion was centered on whether and how many people the United States should accept.

Tucker argues that we are unrecognizable as America from 30 years ago and unable to absorb more asylum seekers and refugees.

I argued the opposite that we have great capacity to absorb and integrate asylum seekers and refugees as we have done for a very long time, plus we signed the 1951 Refugee Convention and have a Judeo-Christian obligation to care for them (see Exodus 22:20, Proverbs 19:17, Matthew 25:40, etc.).

Lastly, at the end of the interview I claim a financial benefit from accepting refugees – here are my sources (click for the link):
